Foam Cicada
by Tom Knoth
The Foam Cicada is actually suggestive of many other terrestrials including beetles, crickets, hoppers, and flying ants. On lakes, I use it whenever the wind is blowing and trout are surface feeding. I also like to fish this fly near shoreline brush and/or overhanging trees..
The Foam Cicada is a good floater and highly visible, which makes it a great indictor fly for "hopper and dropper" rig stream fishing.
