Deer Hair Minnow
by Craig Gittings
The Deer Hair Minnow is a great pattern for imitating an injured baitfish. It
can be tied to represent a shad, shiner, bluegill or any other baitfish that
is on the menu. Although the deer hair makes this a floating pattern,
it is fished with sinking line and a short (4-5 ft) leader. When stripped
it dives; when pauses are taken between strips, it flutters back to the surface.
